Blog / Win Without Attacking: Ahri's Nine-Tailed Strategy
The Hold-Score Mechanic
In Riftbound, scoring usually means conquering — sending your units to attack and win a battlefield. Ahri, Alluring flips this entirely. When she holds a battlefield (your units there, no enemy units), you score 1 point at the end of your turn for free. No attacks needed.
The Legend Is Your Shield
The Nine-Tailed Fox Legend taxes every attacker: any enemy unit that attacks a battlefield you control loses -1 Might this turn. Pair this with Ahri, Inquisitive (-2 Might on combat), and a 4-Might attacker is reduced to 1 effective Might. Your 3/3 Ahri, Inquisitive holds against their 4-Might unit. That's the engine.
The Stun Package
Rune Prison, Solari Shieldbearer, Zenith Blade, and Fox-Fire create a stun web that feeds Eclipse Herald (who readies himself and grows each time you stun) and Solari Shrine (which draws cards each time you kill a stunned unit). Fox-Fire is a Hidden spell that wipes any cluster of units with total Might 4 or less — easy after the Legend's -1 drains attackers.
How to Reach 8 Points
Ahri, Alluring passively ticks 1-2 points over 3-4 turns while your stun-control holds two of three battlefields. Sona, Harmonious readies 4 runes at end of your turn, keeping Reaction mana open every round. Leona, Zealot is your closer — she enters ready when your opponent nears victory and makes stunned enemies effectively 1 Might at her battlefield. Load the deck in Practice Mode and feel how the stall-then-score loop snowballs.
